We are looking to add consultants to our engineering team to work initially with our team on developing and supporting several online Government services which have been developed in Ruby and Python. Each application supports several thousand citizens across the UK. The role will be based in our Aldgate offices as well as client offices in Central London. We also have a number of other exciting in-house and client based projects which include clients in the rail industry, and leading edge start-ups. We require candidates to have good knowledge of either python or ruby

More about the role…
The job will be based in Aldgate and sometimes on client site depending on the project. You will need some experience in software development, preferably with a degree. As part of the interview process we would like to discuss examples of previous development projects you have completed in python or ruby.
Working as a developer for a ruby or python application for Solirius’ government clients.
Moving onto other client work (typically after 6 months to a year)
Responsible for developing features, fixing bugs, updating application to comply with government standards.
Being part of a large team-working with and learning from senior developers within the team.
Helping with Solirius internal applications or other work when possible
Working closely with clients to understand their needs and working with the Solirius team to whilst on client site.
Help us to grow our software engineering practice
Some software development experience, using Python or Ruby (and related technologies)
Good HTML, CSS skills
Strong academic background
Great written and verbal communication skills
An understanding of software development methodologies such as Agile
Develop understanding of common programming models (client/server, web based, integration)
DevOps technologies (such as git, Docker, jenkins, travis or AWS)
